If you have this skill tree, you are able to sacrifice yourself to defend other people. You must be close enough to touch your intended target right after they take damage, or a bullet. You tag your target with your hand or with a weapon, and call “Sacrifice!”. You then take the full damage that they would have just taken. You can do this as often as you want, until you die.
Time Required: Instant.
Items Required: None
You may take Hit Point damage in place of someone else.
You may take a bullet that was intended for someone else. The bullet hits you where it would have hit the original target. (So, if they are hit in the head, you can call Sacrifice and take the head shot.)
You may give up a flag in place of someone else. To do this, you tag your target and say sacrifice. They get the flag that was just pulled back, and the aggressor instead pulls a flag from you.
This skill tree allows you to return flags to people who have gotten them pulled over the course of the game. Note: you can only return white flags, not red-tipped flags. To do this you go to the Store, once an hour, and show them your level in Buck Up. They will give you a certain amount of white flags, depending on your level. You may then spend five minutes, at any point in the event, talking to someone and encouraging them to do better, and be brave. At the end of the five minutes, you may give them any number of flags (not past their max capacity) that you have gotten.
You cannot use Buck Up on yourself.
Time Required: Five Minutes.
You are given 1 flag an hour.
You are given 2 flags an hour.
You are given 3 flags an hour.
This skill tree allows you to distract a zombie (or a human, for that matter) from other people. The distraction time depends entirely on what level you have. To do this, call “Distract #” where the number is your level in Distract.
Time Required: Instant.
You can distract a person for a split second. They MUST stop what they are doing, stop moving, and glance at you. They can then decide whether they want to continue doing what they were doing, or come chase you. This is often enough time to save a friend from getting cornered.
There is no limit to how many people you can call distract 1 on, however, once you distract someone, you may not distract that particular person until you meet them in another scene, or unless they Respawn as a different zombie.
You must have an item, about the size of your hand, designated as your Distract Item for level 2. You designate this item at the beginning of the event, and you may not change it over the course of the event. This item is what you THROW to distract someone. You will call distract 2, and then throw the item. The person you have targeted must go find that item, or at least spend a full minute looking. Once they find the item, they can continue doing what they were doing, and will simply drop the item in an obvious area. They CAN, however, keep the item with them, causing you to have to get it back to use your skill again.
You can only target one person at a time with Level 2
You can call Distract 3 to make a zombie/person chase you and only you. They will have to follow you until you or they are dead.
You may target multiple people at once with Distract 3.
Note: if you climb a tree or otherwise get out of danger, while zombies will wait for a long time before wandering off, a sentient being may leave and come back with a ranged weapon. They may also work intelligently with others to apprehend you. This skill works much better on zombies than sentient beings.
With Rally, you may assist other people in breaking out of mind effecting abilities. You must give a little speech to do so. (Though, “Come on, Dude! Cry about it later!” is totally legit.)
Time Required: Short, spoken sentences.
You can break someone out of a pain effect for 30 seconds. They must count to 30 as they run or hide. After which, they are in pain again. You can do this to as many people at a time you want, but you must encourage them one at a time.
You can keep a hand on one of your targets so that they do not have to count. So long as you are touching them, and occasionally speaking encouragement, they are not in pain. This means that they can continue fighting if they want. However, you can only do this to one person at a time.
You are immune to fear effects.
With a short speech, you can cancel a fear effect for everyone within arms reach. You MUST spend at least 10 seconds talking to help them. You can do this while moving.
You can organize people to assist in building, repairing, or crafting items. To do this, you must also have someone with the appropriate skill tree (for example, Craft Ammo). You can than work with that person, and others in the area, to speed up the process.
So, if you have enough ingredients to make 10 bullets, but need to do it quickly, you can work with a mechanic and two fighters to craft them faster. You, yourself, will not be crafting, but the two extra people can craft at the same level as your mechanic, as long as you are encouraging them and supervising.
If you have the craft ability at hand, you can use it and Organize to get people to help you, and you can craft items while you do it.
This can also be used to get people to help repair a car, or computer, or disarm a bomb.
Time Required: Same time required to craft the items
A player with the appropriate skill.
You can get one person to assist you.
You can get two people to assist you.
You can get three people to assist you.
