 Armor

This skill tree gives you the ability to wear and start the game with armor.  Armor in this game gives you a damage reduction of 1 against one type of weapons, with the exception of Kevlar.  Kevlar fully stops bullets, unless someone calls damage with those bullets. Larger guns (usually on the side of the NPCs) not only make a limb useless, but also deliver hit point damage.  Kevlar would stop 1 point of that damage. Armor only protects the body part covered (head, torso, arms, legs). A body part must be 50% covered by armor to be protected.

You can only wear one type of armor at a time.

Time Required: It takes a full five minutes to put on or change armor.

Items Required

Armor

Level 1

You may use Kevlar, which fully stops bullets, or gives a Damage Reduction of 1 against bullets.

Level 2

You may use Scrap Armor. Scrap Armor is anything piecemealed together from things that were not generally designed to be used as armor. Thick leather clothing, sports pads, and the like are all examples. Scrap Armor gives you Damage Reduction 1 against Zombie Claws or hazardous terrain.

Level 3

You may use Melee armor, which consists of things like chain mail, or plate mail.  Anything that you would expect to see in the Lord of the Rings or Medieval Times will suffice.  This armor not only gives you a damage reduction of 1 against melee weapons, but stops arrows and gives a damage reduction of 1 against arrows.

Use Melee Weapons

This skill allows you to use melee weapons in game.  Note: all players can use and start with small weapons.

You may use bows. Bows, unlike bullets, can be recovered after being used.

Strength

This skill tree demonstrates that you are stronger than the average person.  Without this skill tree, you cannot pick up an injured companion and run with them.  (Unless you can ACTUALLY pick them up and run.)  With this skill tree, you can just give a friend a hand up, and mime carrying them, while they run with you.

This skill tree also allows you to stagger your opponents.  This means that, when you hit them, you call “Stagger, #” where the number is how many steps back they must take.  The number of steps they must take depends on whether you have level 2 or 3 of this tree.

You must hit an opponent in the tee-shirt area to stagger them.

Time Required: Instant.

Items Required: A melee weapon for levels 2 and 3.

Level 1

You can run with a companion that should be unconscious or immobile as long as you are touching them.  Simply call “Strength” and help them up.

Level 2

You can stagger an opponent back 2 steps.

Level 3

You can stagger an opponent back 3 steps.
